Description

"The whole dynamic with Lusamine, the Aether Foundation, and the Ultra Beasts was basically THE highlight of the game's story for me. Lusamine was just genius in her twistedness. At first she just seemed to have more than a few screws loose, but then after the second battle with her and learning more about Nihilego (which is a genius name, by the way) in the post-game, you can start to piece things together. Nihilego is a parasitic Ultra Beast that can possess/infect people and inject them with neurotoxins. In doing so, it basically exaggerates and distorts their existing characteristics and tendencies, causing them to go out of control. In other words, it basically destroys its host's mind. And Lusamine was BADLY infected by Nihilego, seemingly by multiple of them. Thinking about it that way, she probably started out as a very nurturing, motherly woman who got joy from taking care of people and Pokemon who were suffering or in need. Most likely this was the genuinely noble mission she began the Aether Foundation with. But somewhere along the line, she got infected, and that altruistic side of her that became happy by taking care of others got twisted into a selfish possessiveness, and she began using people and Pokemon as nothing more than playthings to be controlled and used for her own selfish satisfaction. Freezing Pokemon as trophies? Why not? Her children? If they're not useful to her as obedient playthings, then they're no children of hers. Cosmog? Who cares how much she has to torture it if it gets her into the Nihilego's dimension? And it's all because of Nihilego's neurotoxins turning something noble into something disturbing. Frankly, I think all this is probably the most genius, psychologically complex, and surprisingly dark story behind an antagonist in Pokemon history apart from maybe N in Black and White. And when you finally piece things together, it makes Nihilego the most freaking TERRIFYING Pokemon ever. Seriously. When it came time to catch one in the post-game, I was like "Do I REALLY want a Pokemon this horrifying?" Well done, Game Freak."

Done with Polychromos on A4 :) (Smile)
This is probably my most ornate picture ever. Altogether, it certainly took six months, but I also had to take long breaks in between. It took a lot of time, but on the whole I am very proud of it.
